Focused - Children Learn Better When They are Not Disturbed

At times we interrupt the thought process of a child by interrupting or helping them. It is learned that attention span, concentration and being focused on a task at hand plays a huge role in learning.

Technology is a blessing to all of us, but it is not without side-effects. Studies show that the increasing use of technology has decreased the attention span of human being, especially children. According to a study done in the early 2000s, the average attention span of humans shrunk from 12 seconds to 8.25 seconds, which is shorter even than a goldfish. Surprisingly goldfish has a attention span of 9 secs. This was before the lockdown happened due to corona virus. Usage of screen time has been increasing and attention span decreasing every year.

We at Giggle Garden have our own set of games and materials which increase the focus and attention span of children. The games in My Giggle Garden also focuses on increasing their concentration rather than building competitive spirit. We do not have winners or losers - we only only participants.

Life is made easy when we feel our children are safe and quite with a mobile or tablet, but are they really safe? Should we really resort to the devices to help us with parenting?
